Through RCI, timeshare owners can combine the benefits of their home resort with an annual RCI Points or RCI Weeks membership, giving them access to hundreds of timeshares on the exchange network. For many vacation owners, vacation exchange is one of the biggest benefits of owning a timeshare. RCI allows owners to trade their timeshare points/weeks for thousands of other options. However, an additional membership also comes with it’s own set of fees and dues, which can adjust every year. This blog is a complete guide to RCI exchange fees for 2023. You can see previous years (such as 2021 or 2020) on our blog.
What is RCI?
RCI is a vacation exchange company created for timeshare owners to get the most out of their timeshare interests. With an RCI membership, owners can deposit and exchange their timeshare points or weeks to stay at other resorts in the network.
There are two types of memberships through RCI: RCI Weeks and RCI Points. Additionally, RCI Points and RCI Weeks members have the option to upgrade their benefits with Platinum and Gold memberships. If you are an RCI member, you are probably well acquainted with RCI membership fees. RCI is a subscription-based program. This means owners generally make payments in advance for using the services available. In addition to exchange, members can also get benefits for flights through RCI.
RCI Affiliated Brands
It’s worth noting that even though a brand is RCI affiliated, not every resort in the brand will be able to exchange through RCI. To avoid any confusion, call RCI to check the availability of your resort on the exchange network. RCI is the largest vacation exchange network in the world and has partnerships with the brands listed here:
- Hilton Grand Vacation Club
- Wyndham Destinations
- Welk Resorts
- Bluegreen Vacations
- Holiday Inn Club Vacations
If you don’t own a timeshare yet, get started by browsing our timeshares for sale, or check one out on the timeshare rental market.
How Much are RCI Exchange Fees?
The number and amount of fees you pay with RCI depends on your membership package. RCI refers to its membership fees as Network dues. RCI reserves the right to change fees at any time at their own discretion. According to RCI, the fees below are the most current (click here for 2020 RCI exchange fees or here for 2021 RCI exchange fees). Since owners use their timeshares year after year, RCI gives the option to purchase your membership for future years at a discount. By subscribing ahead of time, you won’t have to revisit your subscription year after year.
RCI Points Exchange Fees 2023-2024
If flexibility is important to you, RCI Points members have a bit more flexibility in their membership (compared to weeks members) for the simple fact that points can be divided among several one to five-night stays as compared to weeks. For example, if you wanted to take a weekend getaway and then use your remaining days elsewhere a few months later, you hypothetically could.
Just as points-based timeshare values vary, so do timeshares on the RCI network. Your annual allotment of points depends on a number of factors. A few factors that affect the value of RCI’s network: are your resort’s popularity, the type and size of your unit, as well as the season you own in.
The following RCI fees for 2023 are effective starting December 1, 2022.

Managing Your RCI Points Deposits
RCI has a few fees for points management. The great thing about points-based programs is that you can generally roll over points from previous years to the next year. Additionally, you can save points from this year for next year. Keep in mind that different rules and rates apply, so check in with RCI and your developer to be sure. Oftentimes it’s best to get the information for your specific ownership since owner needs vary.
A Points Saving fee occurs when you want to save your points for the next year to use. A Points Extension fee applies when you want to roll over those points to the third year. The fee amount you pay depends on the number of points you wish to roll over.
If, while browsing the RCI network, you come across a resort you like, but don’t have enough points for, don’t fret! You have the option to rent more points upon checkout.

There is a slight discount for purchasing ahead of time or bulking your subscription membership.
